Whilst set in rolling countryside, car is not the only way to visit Leighton Hall; we’re just 3 miles from Carnforth centre and 1.5 miles from nearby Silverdale railway station, offering a range of transport options. Through our sustainability and carbon reduction pledges, we encourage all visitors to explore visiting Leighton by non-car methods, gifting all foot, bike and public transport visitors 2-for-1 entrance as an environmental thank you.

Nearby Carnforth station has excellent national rail links. From there regular 5 minute train journeys take you to Silverdale station, a 1.5 mile (40 minute leisurely) stroll to us on excellent public footpaths, through well-known RSPB Leighton Moss and then onto the hall.

Regular no. 51 bus routes from central Carnforth offer a 20 minute journey through the glorious Arnside and Silverdale AONB countryside, to Silverdale station, located next to Leighton Moss RSPB. From there you can access the footpath network.

Partnering us in our environmental goals, ‘Jock’s Taxis’ in Carnforth will collect from Carnforth Train Station and bring visitors up to Leighton for a discounted fee. Journeys must be booked in advance on 01524 727777.

Glorying in quiet roads, National cycle trails and peaceful footpaths, the surrounding Arnside and Silverdale AONB is the perfect scenic landscape to enjoy walking or cycling to Leighton Hall.
